Hello SMOS Families! It has almost been a month of school already, and I cannot believe how much we have already accomplished! For our Literacy program, the students have successfully mastered the letter “C” and “O” based on handwriting, phonics, and phonemic awareness. We are now on our third Superkids workbook with a focus on the letter “G”. We will have our first Literacy assessment tomorrow. For Math, the students have completed the first section of the Everyday Math program, where they focused on describing/naming shapes, counting/recognizing numbers, understanding the length of objects, creating individual patterns, and reading/understanding surveys and graphs.
They also completed their Beginning-of-the-Year Assessment for Math. On top of that, we have explored the many elements of weather and the different seasons for Science, and discussed the importance of family and friends for Social Studies. In Religion, the students have discussed some of God’s earthly creations including natural light, water, and land. It’s amazing how much we have learned, and the school year has only just begun! I am very excited to continue this educational journey with your students, and hope you are excited too 🙂
