Dear Parents and Families,

My name is Mrs. Deana Dixon and I will be your preschooler’s teacher for this school year. I am delighted to be in Pre-Kindergarten and I’m looking forward to working with your child and teaching him/her new and exciting things across the curriculum. I enjoy teaching, which I have been doing for over 15 years. My teaching experience includes Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Archdiocese. I am a certified teacher and I have a Master’s degree in Education. This is my fourth year at St. Margaret of Scotland school.

I believe that it is very important for the Teachers and Parents to work together to bring out the very best in your child. My class expectation is that every student will succeed. This can only happen when students follow school and class rules. Our class rules are:

  • Be nice to each other
  • Listen when the teacher is talking
  • Use walking feet
  • Use inside voices

Every morning, please walk your child to our class and sign them in. At 2:55pm, please enter through the doors to the right of the main parking lot door to pick up your child from the class. Your child must be signed out. The doors will be closed and locked at 3:05pm and you will have to use the main parking lot doors after that time. Any Pre-K student left in the class at 3:10pm will go to aftercare.

Please check your child’s book bag every day for homework, class work, or information from the school.

Homework will be sent home on Monday, or the first day of the week and is due on Friday. Graded class work can

be kept at home. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. My goal is to work with you so that we may achieve the best education for your child.
